Assignment description
We are seeking a skilled Atlassian Engineer to join our team and take ownership of the management, optimization, and continuous improvement of our Atlassian ecosystem — primarily Jira Service Management, Confluence, related tools in our Jira Data Center setup. The role combines hands-on platform configuration and development with stakeholder engagement, agile project execution, and process optimization in our ITSM tool supporing the organisation.
Your work will include developing automations and integrations, set up and adjust workflows. Guiding stakeholders through best practices in our ITSM tool. You will be part of a collaborative environment that values curiosity, continuous improvement, and a growth mindset.
Role and responsibility:
Ensure stability, performance, and scalability of Atlassian platforms.
Drive enhancements and customizations in Jira Service Management and Confluence based on organizational needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, HR, Product, Business) to align workflows and service delivery.
Act as subject matter expert on Atlassian tools, providing guidance and best practices.
Manage and execute platform-related projects including migrations, upgrades, and integrations.
Maintain governance, compliance, and security standards across the platform.
Promote continuous improvement and optimizations.
Tasks:
Administer and configure Jira Service Management and Confluence in a data center setup, primarly.
Design, implement, and maintain custom workflows, issue types, fields, and automation rules.
Develop scripts and small customizations using Groovy, or REST APIs (e.g., ScriptRunner or Forge apps).
Support integrations with other systems (e.g., Azure, Bitbucket, CI/CD pipelines).
Monitor system health, manage permissions, and ensure data integrity.
Document platform configurations.
Manage platform-related projects from planning to delivery.
Requirements
Must have:
Proven experience working with Atlassian DC tools, Jira, Jira Service Management DC, Confluence DC etc, as a Atlassian Engineer, or similar role.
Solid hands-on experience with Jira Service Management DC, and Confluence DC.
Strong understanding of workflow configuration, permission schemes and automation rules.
Technical knowledge in scripting (e.g., Groovy) and REST API usage.
Certifications within the area, such as Atlassian Certified Administrator or similar.
Proven knowledge of ITSM concepts, either from relevant work experience or ITIL Certification.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups.
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Nice to have:
Experience with Atlassian Cloud environments.
Familiarity with, Agile, and SAFe inspired frameworks.
Knowledge of Azure, Bitbucket, or other DevOps tools.
Experience working for or with Atlassian Partners.
Experience working remotely with Scandinavian organisations.
